Brazilian Striker Is Set To Make His Arsenal Debut – Four Years After Joining The Gunners

Brazilian striker Wellington Silva looks set to finally make his Arsenal debut – a massive four years after initially signing for The Gunners.

Silva, 22, has been waiting on a work permit since joining the Premier League side in January 2011.

Since then he has had FIVE different loan spells with clubs in Spain and is currently completing his final loan period with La Liga strugglers Almeria.

The forward – who was 18 when Arsene Wenger persuaded him to join the north London club in a deal worth almost £4million from Fluminense – has now been granted a Spanish passport.

Earlier today, he tweeted a picture of the illusive passport with the caption: “The good thing is slow in coming, but arrives with the greatest satisfaction in the world.”

It is thought that the former Brazil Under-21 international will now head for the Emirates Stadium in the summer and figure in Wenger’s pre-season plans.
