Ryan Giggs Celebrates With Salford City Players After They Become Non League Champions

Ryan Giggs and Phil Neville celebrated with the Salford City players last night after they were crowned Evo-Stik North champions without kicking a ball.

The Manchester club – which is owned by Giggs, the Neville brothers, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt – secured automatic promotion to the Ev0-Stick Northern League Premier Division after seeing nearest rivals Darlington draw 1-1 at Warrington Town.

That means Salford have a four-point lead going into the final game of the season this Saturday.

And, amazingly, the club secured the title on 92 points – a perfect tribute to the Class of 92 on their first season in charge.

Phil Neville shared this brilliant picture on Instagram of Giggs celebrating with the squad after they heard the Darlington result.

He wrote:

Giggsy celebrating with the boys!!

Salford won the title on the same night as FC United Manchester won the league they’ll be playing in next season to make sure they’ll be a Conference North team from next term.

FCUM beat Stourbridge 1-0 to give themselves a five-point lead over Workington going into the final game of the campaign this weekend.
