VIDEO: Why Can’t More Players Behave Like This? Lewis Holtby Defends Himself Against Angry Hamburg Fans

VIDEO: Why Can’t More Players Behave Like This? Lewis Holtby Defends Himself Against Angry Hamburg Fans

Tottenham loanee Lewis Holtby showed guts of steel this weekend after he confronted a group of angry Hamburg fans.

Many players would have cowered away after HSV’s loss to Wolfsburg left them bottom of the Bundesliga and facing relegation.

But not Holtby.

The passionate German is currently on loan at the Imtech Arena.

But despite his temporary status at the club, he clearly didn’t appreciate when a large group of Hamburg fans questioned his commitment to the team.

Holtby passionately responds:

“I tell you one thing: I will work my ass off and I am working my ass off.

I have some good matches. Sometimes I have shit matches as well.

I’m trying to work my ass off, but I’m also just a human, you know?”

Hamburg have lost 15 of their 28 matches this season, but you can’t say their players lack fighting spirit.

Especially with guys like Holtby in the squad.
