Wayne Rooney Describes David De Gea as ‘Unbelievable’ After PFA Player of the Year Nomination

Wayne Rooney has hailed Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea as ‘unbelievable’ after he was nominated for PFA Player of the Year.

The Spanish stopper has been an integral part of Louis van Gaal’s side which goes into the final six games of the season with a real chance of securing second spot and a place in the Champions League next season.

He’s picked up 12 clean sheets as United number one and his impressive form has led to reports of Real Madrid being interested in bringing him to the club as long-term replacement for Iker Casillas.

And if he was to leave this summer, he could depart with the award for England’s best player in his bag.

He’s been handed a nomination along with Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, Alexis Sanchez, Philippe Coutinho and Harry Kane.

That adds to his nomination for PFA Young Player of the Year – an award he’ll fight for with Hazard, Coutinho, Kane, Thibaut Courtois and Raheem Sterling for.

But it looks like Rooney knows who deserves the award if this Tweet is anything to go by:
