David Beckham took a trip down memory lane today as he remembered Manchester United’s treble-winning season of 1999 on Instagram.
The now-retired midfielder may be better know to some for his celebrity status and one of the world’s most fashionable men.
But he also has an impressive trophy haul over a 21-year career which saw him play for United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
As well as winning La Liga with Real Madrid and Ligue 1 with PSG, Beckham won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one Champions League during his time at Old Trafford.
And it’s the 1999 season – where United won the league, FA Cup and Champions League for a historic treble – which Beckham has looked back on this morning.
He posted this photo of his three medals from that season on Instagram and wrote:
what a year 1999
It’s a picture which is sure to make some United fans happy and excited going into next season when they will be hoping to compete on all fronts, including the Champions League.
