Lionel Messi didn’t score in Barcelona’s 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich tonight, however, he was still causing havoc as he played a part in both of his side’s goals scored by strike partner Neymar.
The Argentinian will have the chance to add another European Cup winner’s medal to his already outstanding collection when the Catalonian club head to Berlin on 6th June to face either Real Madrid or Juventus in the ultimate European club showdown.
And his former boss has paid the ultimate tribute to him as he described him as the best in the world following tonight’s performance.
Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola was speaking to journalists after the game when he made the claim that Messi was the best there has ever been and is comparable to Pele.
The former Barca gaffer said in his post match press conference:
Messi is incredible, back to his best as when I used to train him. He’s the best player of all time. I can compare him with Pele
The ultimate compliment.
