
Former Liverpool vice captain Jamie Carragher has today posted a picture of the £1m cheque for charity which was raised from the Liverpool All Stars match.
Players, past and present, turned up at Anfield at the end of March to contest in a charity match played by two teams managed by Carragher himself and the departing Steven Gerrard.
And after Sunday’s dismal display in the Premier League finale at Stoke City – where the club were thrashed 6-1 – Carragher brought some positive news to fans today after announcing that £1 million was raised for charity from the match.
Stars such as Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres and Pepe Reina returned to Anfield while John Terry and Thierry Henry took time out of their busy schedules to turn up at Anfield for the star studded event and reeped the rewards today as they were rewarded with the satisfaction of raising £1m for local charities.
