La’el Collins met with Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan on Monday as the investigation into the death of a woman he knew continues.
The former LSU offensive tackle went undrafted in last week’s NFL Draft despite being a likely first round pick.
He also met with police in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Monday as part of their probe into the shooting of Brittney Mills – who Collins is believed to have had a relationship with.
It’s believed he has also taken a paternity test to determine whether he is the father of the baby Mills was carrying at the time of her death.
Collins’ agent had confirmed last week that his client wasn’t going to participate in the Draft when news broke of his association with the investigation and wouldn’t sign for a team if picked beyond the third round.
But he will be able to sign as an undrafted free agent if his name is cleared – with a number of teams interested, including Ryan and the Bills.
The pair met at an impromptu dinner on Monday night before leaving together without comment.
