Liverpool Fans Can’t Quite Believe Club Have Handed Kolo Toure a New Contract

Kolo Toure has been handed a new contract at Liverpool – and fans can’t quite believe it.

He made just 12 Premier League appearances under Brendan Rodgers this term and, on the most part, looked like he would be leaving Anfield this summer.

But his lack of impact on Liverpool’s disappointing season doesn’t appear to have mattered as the club gave him a contract extension reported to be for another year at the club.

They posted this tweet to announce the news:

And, unsurprisingly, the Liverpool supporters – who had to watch their side finish sixth in the league and go trophyless again this term – have had their say.

As you can expect, there are some who can’t believe he’s got a deal, while other believe Brendan Rodgers should be held to account for some questionable decisions with regards to personnel.

It’s certainly not what he would be wanting after Liverpool’s embarrassing 6-1 defeat to Stoke at the weekend.
