Liverpool Legend Jamie Carragher Thanks Captain Steven Gerrard For His Services

It was a case of one Liverpool great praising another on Instagram this morning.

Reds icon Jamie Carragher took to the photo sharing site to pay tribute to his former team-mate Steven Gerrard as he prepares to lead the side out for the final time at Anfield this evening.

Former Liverpool defender Carragher – who was also Gerrard’s vice captain for several seasons – posted the following picture of the number 8, captioning it: “Thank you.”

Carragher will be watching on as his old pal Stevie G leads Brendan Rodgers’ side out for the last time in front of the Kop against Crystal Palace tonight.

It’s a truly touching gesture to his old team-mate with whom he enjoyed a hugely successful spell in the club’s history, with the pinnacle being, of course, their famous Champions League triumph over AC Milan back in 2005.

And you can expect plenty more tributes like this one to be flooding in from his fellow pros past and present throughout the day.
