Bayern Munich were put to the sword by Barcelona in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.
And few are expecting a miraculous turnaround for the Bundesliga champions, with Barcelona on a terrific run of form and currently leading the tie 3-0.
However, Bayern forward Thomas Muller still believes in his teammates.
The World Cup winner argues that the players can’t wait for Tuesday night despite a “horrible game” at the Nou Camp.
Speaking in a Bayern press conference and sat alongside manager Pep Guardiola, Muller said:
“We are going to go out and try to do things because a lot of things are possible in football.
We know it’s not going to be easy but I’ve been convinced since the start that we do have a chance.
We’ve got a thorn very firmly stuck in us and we want to get it out and we want to go into this game in a very different way.
Of course it was a horrible game [the first leg] as far as the result is concerned, it was the least we expected.
So since Wednesday we’re on fire. We can’t wait for Tuesday to come because we want to revenge ourselves and we are going to try.”
Pep Guardiola employed a broad range of bold tactics during the first leg, including man-marking Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar with a back three.
The move failed to pay off however as Barcelona ran rampant in the latter stages with a Neymar strike and a wonderful double from Messi.
