Louis van Gaal’s tactics clipboard was on show again yesterday ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Crystal Palace.
Much has been made of the Dutchman’s notes this season – after it was discovered he has listed Darren Fletcher on his substitutes bench back in February despite selling him to West Brom in the January transfer window.
And the United manager was the subject of close attention on Saturday night at Palace, as a piece of paper in the Iron Tulip’s tactics folder was displayed on TV.
Rather than revealing some killer tactics that would help the Red Devils unlock the three points against the Eagles, Van Gaal’s tactics folder had nothing to do with football.
The former Holland boss was spotted with a picture of a bottle of win on the touchline at Selhurst Park.
United ran out eventual winners thanks to goals from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini either side of a Jason Puncheon equaliser.
And after the game, LVG joked that he would raise a glass of champagne instead of the red wine if Liverpool fail to beat Chelsea today, and all but guarantee United’s Champions League status next season.
