Armenia Fans Taunt Cristiano Ronaldo By Shouting ‘Lionel Messi’ Before Their Game Against Portugal

Armenia fans were desperate for their side to claim an historic victory over Portugal last night – so much so, that a group of them went down to the team bus and decided to heckle their best player.

One fan recorded the Portugal team walking off the bus last night as they arrived at the stadium and, over the screams of young girls, many fans were heard screaming ‘Messi’ in an attempt to get under Cristiano Ronaldo’s skin.

And 14 minutes in to the game it seemed as though it may have worked with Armenia taking the lead thanks to a Marcos Pizzelli goal.

However, Ronaldo proved that he was over the taunts as he levelled things up for his side with a penalty before going on to score a hat trick.

The result leaves Portugal two points clear of Denmark at the top of Group I with four games remaining in the race for a spot at France 2016.
