“He Can’t Be Any Worse Than Roy Keane” – Aston Villa Fans React As Ray Wilkins Joins Coaching Staff

This morning former Chelsea midfielder Ray Wilkins took the Aston Villa assistant managers job.

Wilkins will act as Tim Sherwood’s right hand man next season as Villa fight to improve on last seasons disappointing league position.

However, Wilkins’ arrival drew a mixed reception from the clubs fans.

Some argued the 58-year-old simply can’t be worse than former assistant Roy Keane.

While others claimed he is simply a journeyman and all he will bring to the table is more sideways passing.

Villa finished in 17th spot in the Premier League table last season, just 3 points ahead of relegated Hull City.

Yet Sherwood still managed to lead his side to an FA Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley.

Either way you look at it, the ex-England international has certainly made Twitter react this morning….

Even if it is just for the uncanny comparisons to Uncle Fester from the Addams Family:
