Is Georgios Samaras’ Agent Hinting at a Possible Celtic Return For Greek Striker?

It’s always entertaining when a football agent speaks – but similarly demoralising when he goes all cryptic.

That’s what happened last night as Georgios Samaras’ agent teased Celtic about the club moving for a former player.

Gregory Ioannidis posted this open-ended tweet which got an immediate reaction from some Hoops fans:

Greg

Samaras is a hero to many Celtic fans for the six-year service he gave to the club.

Signed in 2008 by Gordon Strachan, the rangy Greek forward went on to make 248 appearances for the Hoops and helped them to four league titles, two Scottish Cups and a League Cup.

He was renowned for his performances in Europe with former boss Neil Lennon using him as a main striker, but left the club for West Brom when his contract expired last summer.

Yet it appears Ronny Deila is keen to bring the 30-year-old back to Parkhead as he bolsters his squad for the new season.

Samaras is still contracted to Al-Hilal after making a move from West Brom in January, but it’s believed the Saudi club could be set to offload the expensive striker on a free.
