Ivan Rakitic’s Champions League Final goal was the first Barcelona goal since February 28 which Lionel Messi, Neymar or Luis Suarez haven’t scored or assisted.
The Croatian midfielder hit home in the fourth minute after brilliant play from Neymar set Andres Iniesta free in the box to set up the opener.
Juve have failed to hit back in a first-half with plenty of decent opportunities.
But it’s the lack of MSN genius which has been most surprising given their unbelievable form this season.
They’ve scored 120 goals this campaign and contributed 64 assists as Barca stand on the verge of a domestic and European treble.
So it’s surprising when you see the statistic that Rakitic’s goal is the first one in over three months which Messi, Neymar or Suarez haven’t been directly involved in.
Opta revealed the brilliant stat on Twitter following the former Sevilla midfielder’s strike:
1 – Ivan Rakitic' goal was the first Barcelona goal from open play without a Messi, Suárez or Neymar goal/assist since February 28. Variety.
