A poll conducted by a respected daily newspaper in Spain has found that up to HALF of Real Madrid’s fans would sell Cristiano Ronaldo if a suitable offer arrived.
Madrid-based paper AS surveyed 31, 474 of the club’s members, and an astonishing 15,725 said they’d try to flog the Portuguese forward if a bid between E100-E150 materialised, despite his incredible haul of goals putting him within touching distance of becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer.
In 300 competitive appearances, he has bagged an eye-watering 313 times for Los Blancos, and scored 61 times in all competitions during the season just passed. The current Ballon d’or holder has continued his fine form for his national side too, scoring a hat-trick against Armenia on Saturday, his third successive hat-trick in as many matches.
Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly pondering an world record £87 million move for Ronaldo, although the future of their own talismanic striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and UEFA’s FFP rules, could prove to be too large a stumbling block.
