Ronaldinho knows how to put the fear into opponents – and he’ll be giving old Serie A goalkeepers nightmares by posting this brilliant throwback picture of him alongside David Beckham and Andrea Pirlo.
The players are arguably three of the best free-kick takers the game has ever seen and consistently hit the back of the net from dead balls through their career.
So spare a thought for goalies in Italy when Becks rocked up to join Pirlo and Ronaldinho in the AC Milan squad in 2009 and then again a year later.
Ronaldinho posted this picture to Instagram and wrote:
What would you do if you were the goalkeeper? kkkkkk @davidbeckham and @pirloficial, great friends and players!
Terrifying – and slightly sad.
Beckham is retired and Ronaldinho no longer plays in Europe after spending the last four years in Brazil and Mexico.
As for Pirlo, he just starred for Juventus in the Champions League final, but he’s confirmed he won’t be at the Italian champions next season and appears set to sign for New York City FC.
So, in tribute to three of football’s best dead ball specialists, here are some of their greatest free-kick goals:
