As far as things which are highly frowned upon go in football, kicking someone in the nuts ranks right up there beside spitting and diving.
But try telling that to Seattle Sounders’ Sergio Mota.
American commentator Keith Olbermann runs a weekly segment called ‘Worst Person in Sports’ on his ESPN show, in which he calls out the top 3 worst people of the week.
And top of his list this week was Mota after retaliated with a shocking two-footed kick to the testicles on an LA Galaxy player.
Mota’s behaviour was awful on several counts: firstly, the foul he was on the receiving end of was not even that bad, and did not warrant any kind of retaliation, let alone a nasty nut kick.
Secondly, he tried to play dumb and act like he’d done nothing wrong. Thankfully, the referee’s assistant had seen the aggression and Mota was deservedly sent off.
