Memphis Depay demonstrated his eye for goal once again last night during an international friendly – not that he knew too much about it that is.
The new Manchester United signing, formerly of PSV, showed us once of the many reasons as to why he finished as the leading scorer in the Eredivisie last season – being in the right place at the right time.
Depay unwittingly headed Holland into a 3-1 lead against the USA last night from close range to record his third ever goal for the Dutch national side.
Depay was lurking in the box as Klass-Jan Huntelaar’s rifled effort fizzed in, and the ball ricocheted off Depay’s cement-like forehead and into the back of the net.
The highly-rated 21-year-old’s joy was short lived though as the USA made a sensational comeback to defeat Holland for the first time in their history.
