Bastian Schweinsteiger will not attend Bayern Munich’s squad presentation this afternoon – paving the way for his transfer to Manchester United.
It was reported late last night that the German World Cup winner had agreed a three-year deal to move to Old Trafford this summer.
But the switch has not been confirmed by any party just yet as the clubs negotiate over a fee for the midfielder, who doesn’t want to extend his stay in Munich beyond 2016.
Pep Guardiola’s side will train in front of 70,000 fans at the Allianz Arena for the first time this season – without Schweinsteiger.
German newspaper Bild have reported that he won’t be there as he enters final negotiations with United.
Their tweet read:
Information is Bastian Schweinsteiger will not be in the arena for the presentation today.
Nach BILD-Infos ist @BSchweinsteiger heute NICHT in der Arena bei der Präsentation

United fans are quite rightly excited to sign the highly-rated midfielder and have every right to see this development as another step closer to him officially being unveiled at the club.
