If you’re an avid Scrabble player like Tottenham youngster Harry Winks seems to be then it’s probably best that you keep that to yourself.
But the 19-year-old defender made a mistake by letting Tom Carroll in on his secret that he’d brought the popular board game along with him on Spurs’ flight to Denver earlier today.
Mauricio Pochettino’s squad are flying to Colorado’s capital to play against an MLS All-Stars team.
And Winks has his team-mates covered during the near-10-hour flight after showing up with Scrabble in his bag, according to Carroll anyway.
The Spurs midfielder posted the picture to Instagram and wrote:
Can’t believe @harrywinks_ brought scrabble with him for the flight to Denver!
To be fair to Winks, Carroll could be framing him for a crime he didn’t commit – but it’s still pretty funny.
Spurs take on the MLS All-Stars on Thursday before travelling to Germany to face Real Madrid in the Audi Cup on Tuesday.
That’s their final pre-season game before they kick-off the English Premier League season against Manchester United on August 8th.
