Alloa manager Danny Lennon has defended Rangers loan star Nathan Oduwa after he came in for criticism for showboating at the end of their Scottish Championship clash yesterday.
Oduwa signed from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal at Ibrox last week and made his debut in Sunday’s 5-1 win for the Gers at the Indodrill Stadium.
He had to be content with a place off the bench, replacing Barrie McKay with 30 minutes remaining in the game.
But the 19-year-old striker certainly made a big impact as footage of him trying to beat Alloa defender Colin Hamilton with an audacious rainbow flick went viral:

Hamilton’s post-match comments criticising Oduwa have made bigger headlines, with Ibrox boss Mark Warburton also insisting he’ll have to have a word with the attacker.
But rival boss Lennon refused to join Hamilton in his attack on Oduwa and instead insisted that sort of skill should be promoted in the Scottish game.
He just wants to show the quality that he has in front of his new fans so no, not at all.
He certainly looks a talent. He will be a breath of fresh air for Scottish football and you want that creativity in it.
It’s bound to attract more discussion, but we want to know your view.
