There were some terrific scenes during the first half of Manchester United’s 4-0 win in Brugge on Wednesday night.
A bungling steward was left red-faced, and on his backside, after he slipped while trying to restrain a pitch invader.
The male was caught on camera as he strolled down the touchline in front of the travelling support while play was in full flow.
But as he was approached, the poor steward slipped on the wet surface, much to the delight of the crowd.
A larger team of security soon gathered to apprehend the invader, who showed no signs of violence or attempts to resist before being escorted off.

The United fans reportedly took great pleasure in the steward’s misfortune, comparing his tumble to that of Steven Gerrard’s against Chelsea during the 2013/14 season.
Louis Van Gaal’s side cruised into the Champions League group stage and now await the draw which will determine their European opponents.
