Bury are planning to name a stand after the late Neville Nevile, who passed away two weeks ago.
The father of former Manchester United and England internationals Gary and Phil Neville, as well as England netball coach Tracey, died after suffering a heart attack whilst travelling to Australia for the Netball World Cup.
Neville spent a lot of time at Bury’s Gigg Lane as commercial director, helping the club through some of their most difficult financial periods.
The man known as ‘Big Nev’ was a key player in helping to keep the club afloat when they nearly went bust at the turn of the century.
Bury closed their doors on Thursday to allow all of their staff to attend the funeral of Neville and club bosses at the club are now considering how best to remember him.
A source at the club told The Sun:
Who knows where the club would be if it hadn’t been for him? A stand has been mentioned and it is with the board now to make a decision.
