Celtic Fans Cry Out for a Top Striker as Leigh Griffiths Misses Chance After Chance against Kilmarnock

Celtic Fans Cry Out for a Top Striker as Leigh Griffiths Misses Chance After Chance against Kilmarnock

Celtic fans were left ruing the many missed chances away to Kilmarnock tonight, as a late penalty earned Killie a 2-2 draw with the Scottish league champions.

On paper the game seemed like a walkover, after Celtic’s dominant two performances in the league and Kilmarnock’s two defeats – it was anything but.

Leigh Griffiths was the one man in the Celtic team who was singled out for criticism as fans took to social media to lament his 5 or 6 golden opportunities which went missed in front of goal.

Although his goals to games ratio is impressive, it is obvious from the social media comments that Celtic fans are not 100% behind Griffiths as the first choice striker – an opinion that also appears to be held by manager Ronny Deila.

Already this season we have seen Griffiths being left out in the big games against Qarabag and on tonight’s evidence we would not expect him to start against Malmo next midweek.
