Rory McIlroy may just have dropped his biggest hint yet that he’ll be fit to compete in the USPGA Championship at Whistling Straits next week.
The Northern Irishman ruptured his left ankle ligament while playing football with friends and was forced to miss out on The Open at St Andrews in July.
He’s been busy recovering over the last four weeks and offered hope to fans yesterday by posting a video of him hitting a driver on the course.
McIlroy looked as pain-free as possible, but did not comment on whether he would be in attendance when the last major championship of the year kicks off in Wisconsin next Thursday.
But now his latest post on Instagram may confirm that he’s on his way to the US – and is planning to compete in the USPGA.
He posted a picture of inside his private jet and, going by the caption, he’s going to America for some golf:
