German newspaper Bild are reporting that Liverpool have had a bid accepted for Borussia Dortmund attacker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
According to the reports, also picked up in today’s Independent, Brendan Rodgers has offered a fee of £15 million for the Armenian midfielder, with new BVB coach Thomas Tuchel happy to sell.
Mkhitaryan has 24 goals and 20 assists in 94 appearances for the Bundesliga giants since moving from Shakhtar Donetsk.
In February, Mkhitaryan’s agent was quoted as saying: “Henrikh wants to leave Dortmund at the end of the season. We will have to wait and see what we can do.”
Meanwhile, the Reds have also been linked in Italy with a move for Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao.
Diao scored the only goal in Wednesday’s Champions League play-off win over Bayer Leverkusen and despite having the likes of Benteke, Sturridge, Origi, Borini and Balotelli at his disposal, Brendan Rodgers wants reinforcements up front, with Sportitalia claiming the Roman side will part with their forward for around £10 million.
