Ronda Rousey has revealed Bethe Correia’s brother tossed a Brazilian flag at her face as she walked out at UFC 190.
The build-up to Saturday’s event – which saw Rousey and Correia headline – was one full of trash-talking and animosity.
But the US fighter and Bantamweight World Champion did most of her talking in the ring, beating her Brazilian counterpart in just 34 seconds to retain the title.
Rousey is basking in the glory of another quick knockout victory – she was pictured enjoying a high-profile soccer match in Brazil alongside Jose Aldo on Sunday – but did take a moment to address something which happened pre-fight.
According to the brawler, Correia’s brother threw his country’s flag at her as she made her way towards the octagon on Saturday night.
And Rousey just can’t understand why.
She told Megan Olivi of UFC:
It was a little annoying when Bethe’s brother, the guy with the blue hair, threw a Brazilian flag at my face.
I wasn’t even mad he threw something at me, but like, why would you throw your own flag on the ground? I thought that was really weird.
Rousey obviously had the last laugh though with the stunning win over Correia.
And maybe her brother will learn his lesson?
