Sky Sports have received 37 complaints after presenter Jim White referred to Rangers as ‘us’.
During a chat with ex Rangers player-manager Graeme Souness and fellow Sky anchor Katie Abdo on Thursday, the Scottish journalist could be clearly heard asking Souness:
How crucial is it for us – a club the size of Rangers to do it (get promoted to the Scottish Premiership) this time?
But despite quickly correcting his slip of the tongue, White has incurred the wrath of a certain section of Sky’s viewers.
Did anyone else just witness @JimWhite refer to rangers as "US" ???? pic.twitter.com/VWffql92aP

The broadcasters were forced to issue the following statement, after taking receipt of the bizarre complaints:
Sky can confirm we have received 37 complaints (33 online, 4 telephone) regarding language used during the “News at 5” program on Sky Sports News, hosted by Jim White and Kate Abdo.
While we appreciate that some viewers were upset with the verbal slip by one of our presenters, we reiterate that no offensive language was used and and mistakes of this type must be expected when hosting 3 hours of live TV on what is one of our most popular channels.
The complaints have been passed on to the produced. At Sky we strive to deliver cutting edge, entertaining programming and value all customer feedback.
