Dana White has refuted claims that negotiations have begun over a super fight between Ronda Rousey and Chritiane ‘Cyborg’ Justino in December.
Former UFC champion Tito Ortiz claimed last week that Cyborg was approached about a fight with the women’s bantamweight champ Rousey at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
But UFC President White has strongly denied that there is any truth behind this, according to UFC.com.
White said: “She (Cyborg) was never offered a fight with Ronda anywhere.
“She has to make the weight, and then fight, and then we know she can do it and we do the fight with Ronda.”
White asked for one of his matchmakers to reach out to Justino and see if she would take a fight against Rousey eventually, a fight that would have to happen at 135 pounds.
UFC was able to reach an agreement with Justino to fight at 135, but it was never specified that the fight would be against Rousey.
Whatever the outcome, you can be sure as hell that none of us want to wait too long before seeing Rowdy Ronda back in the octagon.
