Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale came back to haunt old club Tottenham Hotspur after scoring against them in today’s pre-season friendly.
But after netting from around 25 yards in Bayern Munich’s Audi Cup mini-tournament, the Welsh winger kept his celebration muted, earning the respect of fans of his former club.

Bale clasped his fingers together to create his famous heart symbol but he refused to crack a smile or gleefully run to his teammates.
The match finished 2-0, with James Rodriguez scoring the other goal with a header from close range.

The only thing worse than Bale's heart celebration is his current facial hair. Jeeez.

Despite losing the essentially meaningless game, Spurs fans will be delighted with the performance and progress of young midfielder Dele Alli.
The 19-year-old former MK Dons man ran riot in the first half, nutmegging both Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
It will be interesting to see if the Englishman’s bright display helps him entre manager Mauricio Pochettino’s thoughts for their opening Premier League match against Manchester United on Saturday.
