Scott Allan was introduced to the Celtic fans during yesterday’s match with Inverness after sealing a four year deal on Friday evening.

The 23-year-old midfielder received a rapturous reception from the Parkhead crowd as he entered the field wearing his new No19 Hoops jersey.

Allan had no hesitation in accepting Celtic’s advances and is now eager to seize the opportunity to play Champions League football.

In football terms for me, coming here was a no-brainer. Allan said in a brief interview on the pitch as he was introduced to the Celtic fans before yesterday’s 4-2 Premiership victory against Inverness.

I can’t wait to get started. It is unbelievable. It is a great opportunity for me. It is a massive club and I will try my hardest to be a great player here.

The new signing will be eligible to make his debut in the first leg of the Champions League play-off round tie against Malmo at Celtic Park on Wednesday night, but manager Ronny Deila has warned against any expectations of the new recruit making an instant impact.
