Romelu Lukaku is having an eventful afternoon.

At the time of writing, the Everton striker has two goals to his name as the Toffees lead Southampton 2-0 at the break in the early English Premier League clash.

He’s showed all of the quality play that made the club shell out a record £28million fee to sign him from Chelsea.

But his best moment came before the match – as he hit a Southampton fan with a wayward shot in his warm-up and climbed into the home support to check on her.

It’s a heartwarming moment from – and shows football players do have a heart too:

Lukaku doesn’t just take a few steps into the home support, he climbs a lot of stairs to get to the female fan.

And he quite rightly takes applause from the Saints supporters for it.

Everton will be hoping to hold on to their 2-0 lead and win after starting their Premier League campaign with a 2-2 draw at home to Watford.
