Tottenham threw young starlet Dele Alli into the starting line-up for today’s match friendly match against Real Madrid and he more than held his own.
The former MK Dons midfielder, still only 19, looked really exciting as Spurs faced the ten-time European Champions as part of Bayern Munich’s Audi Cup pre-season tournament.
Englishman Alli showed off his impressive combination of power, strength and grace as he squared up to one if the toughest and most cultured midfields in world football.
Amazingly, Alli is yet to play a competitive game at Spurs, after remaining on loan at MK Dons from January onwards after sealing a move £5 million move to White Hart Lane.

In the first half alone, Alli managed to nutmeg both Luka Modric AND World Cup winner Toni Kroos.
And despite Mauricio Pochettino’s men enduring a mixed pre-season this summer – both on the pitch and in the transfer market – Alli’s performance has buoyed the Tottenham support ahead of the new campaign kicking-off.
Dele Alli has nutmegged Modric and Kroos in the same match, what a man.

Not seen any of #THFC's pre-season before today, but you can tell why Dele Alli was told he'd go straight into the first team squad

Dele Alli looking like a proper player….(All the Spurs fans will tell me now to make sure Madrid don't sign him)
