Jamie Carragher has rubbed salt in the wounds of Manchester United fans this afternoon after they failed to offload want-away goalkeeper David De Gea.
Real Madrid made an 11th-hour bid for the Spain international last night, however the Spanish side failed to complete the required paperwork before the deadline and the deal has since fell through.
United fans will be understandably concerned at being stuck with a star player who so eagerly wanted to move to the Bernabeu and has now had his hopes squashed at the last minute.
And ex-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher was clearly keen to make this afternoon worse for the Old Trafford faithful.
The Sky Sports pundit revealed he is happy that De Gea will not be moving to Madrid as it means United now have a player who’s head isn’t “right”.
Carra added that the failure to sell De Gea will also limit United’s spending in the remaining hours of the window:
I'm happy DDG is staying his head won't be right, he'll go for free next summer & Man Utd haven't got 20 mil to panic with today.

It’s obvious that Carragher was Tweeting as a lifelong Liverpool fan, who as most Reds supporters will admit, fears what United could do with an extra £20 million before the window slams shut.
However, we can’t imagine the former England international has won any fans on social media with his blatant anti-United post.
