Jamie Carragher With a Sly Dig at Manchester United Over European Trophies?

Has Jamie Carragher taken a sly dig at Manchester United over the amount of European trophies they have compared to Liverpool?

The teams go head-to-head this evening in the late English Premier League kick-off and, as usual, trash talk has been a constant in the build-up.

But that doesn’t just extend to the fans – some ex-players and pundits can’t quite hide their feelings.

Carragher is among those as he posted an Instagram picture earlier about the game and made a cheeky comparison between the five Champions League trophies Liverpool have compared to the three in United’s cabinet.

He posted this photo as he also gets ready to work in the Sky Sport studio for their coverage of the game:

It’s been an eventful week for United ahead of tonight’s game, with the news yesterday that David de Gea has signed a new five-year contract adding to reports of unrest among Louis van Gaal’s squad.

However, it was all quiet on Liverpool’s front as Brendan Rodgers made it through the week barely making a headline.

Regardless of that, the pressure is on for both van Gaal and Rodgers after unconvincing starts to the Premier League season.
