Manchester United’s Bastian Schweinsteiger blew us all away this summer when he signed for the club and immediately showcased his fluency in speaking English.
However, it appears the former Bayern Munich star is struggling with some parts of the dialect – primarily whatever is coming out of Wayne Rooney’s mouth.
A documentary on England’s top goalscorer is set to be aired on BBC1 on Monday, and during the programme Rooney reveals that he writes poetry for his wife Coleen.
And ahead of United’s Champions League clash with Wolfsburg tonight, Schweini was asked whether his skipper showcases his poetic ability in the team’s dressing room…
Understandably the World Cup winner refused to throw Rooney under the bus but instead revealed he can barely understand the striker’s strong Scouse accent anyway.
An amused Louis Van Gaal can clearly be heard chuckling away to himself next to Schweinsteiger as he delivers the line.
The Dutch manager has admitted in the past that even he struggles to understand exactly what his captain is saying:

Dont worry Bastian, we’ve been listening to him babble on for years and still don’t have a clue either!
