Was An Australian Rugby Player Really Wearing a Thong Against Uruguay?

Over the years, we’ve seen sports stars wearing all sorts under their kits.

From Mario Balotelli’s ‘Why Always Me?’ to Kaka’s ‘Jesus Loves You’, we’ve seen a few variations in modern times.

Of course, these days it’s quite rare to find an athlete who isn’t wearing some sort of under armour, either beneath their shirts or shorts…but we can’t ever recall anything like this.

During Australia’s 65-3 annihilation of Uruguay in the Rugby World Cup, one of the Aussie stars appeared to be wearing a saucy pair of pants, which became exposed during a first-half scrum.

I mean, what exactly are they? A nice pair of floral budgie-smugglers? His swimming shorts? Or, has been suggested numerous times on social media already, is it a thong?

Who knows. Perhaps it was a distraction tactic, designed to take Uruguayan minds off the game in hand, and send the Wallabies top of Pool A after the crushing victory.
