Aston Villa Fans React in Disbelief to Justin Edinburgh as Next Boss Rumours

Can we really blame Aston Villa fans for having absolutely no clue who Justin Edinburgh is and why he’s emerged as one of the frontrunners with some bookmakers to become their next boss?

No, we can’t.

To enlighten them and almost every football fan in the world, Edinburgh is the current manager of Gillingham, who sit top of League One in England.

He’s been boss of The Gills since February and has them playing winning football so far this season as they target promotion.

But the short eight-month spell at the helm probably hasn’t caught your eye because Gillingham haven’t actually done anything of note in that time apart from racing to the top of the league this term.

As for his playing career, he appeared for Tottenham for 10 years and counts Southend, Portsmouth and Billericay Town as his former clubs.

And after working his way up through the lower leagues, he’s now joined Remi Garde, David Moyes and Brendan Moyes as one of the frontrunners for the Villa job.

As you can expect, the Villa fans don’t know where to look now Edinburgh’s name has been mentioned and took to Twitter to have their say on the potential new boss:
