A host of former Liverpool stars have welcomed new manager Jurgen Klopp to Anfield.
Patrik Berger, Jamie Carragher, John Arne Riise, Luis Garcia, Dietmar Hamann and Xabi Alonso have all taken time out to send good luck messages to the new Kop boss.
The German spoke to the media at his first press conference this morning – more than 12 hours after being confirmed officially as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement.
He’s signed a three-year contract with the club and has immediately told fans to stop being doubters and start believing in the team.
And in a confident press conference, Klopp claimed to be the Normal One in response to Jose Mourinho calling himself the Special One when he first arrived at Chelsea in 2004.
He’ll get his first outing in the dugout as Liverpool boss when they travel to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham a week tomorrow.
Everyone connected to the club will be hoping for a strong start – including these former stars.
Among the messages, Alonso – now appearing for Bayern – welcomes Klopp to the family while Carragher could have hinted at his own return to Anfield.
But Riise’s post is possibly the best, with the Norwegian insisting that he’s never seen a better opening press conference from a manager:
Never ever seen a better press conference from a new manager! The energy, how he speaks, everything! Give this guy time! What a man! @LFC

Great start for Klopp in England. Refreshing to see the humility he showed. Doesnt take himself too serious unlike some others.
