Bournemouth’s PA made a rookie error today after mistakenly leaving his microphone on for the whole of Dean Court to hear him criticising Eddie Howe’s team.
You only usually hear the unfortunate employee for substitutions and stoppage times as well as on the occasions someone has parked their car in the wrong place in the stadium car park.
But he must have been left red-faced after failing to turn the microphone off after one such announcement – and went on to slam the Bournemouth team’s performance in their 5-1 defeat to Tottenham in the English Premier League.
The brilliant mistake was picked up on by Times and CNN writer James Masters:
It’s so good, isn’t it?
Being fair to the PA, he was just saying what every other fan was probably thinking as Mauricio Pochettino’s team romped to the three points.
Matt Ritchie had given Bournemouth the lead in the first minute, but that was soon cancelled out by Harry Kane’s penalty – and Spurs then turned the screw.
Kane added two more, while Mousa Dembele and Erik Lamela also got on the scoresheet.
The defeat leaves Bournemouth just one point above the relegation zone after 10 games.
