Celtic fans have taken a swipe at the SNP before today’s match against Dundee United.
The section of Parkhead usually occupied by the notorious Green Brigade saw several banners unfurled before kick-off this afternoon, having a dig at the Scottish government and the way they treat football fans in this country.
The banners showed a Policeman using a video camera, with the caption: “Police state brought to you by the SNP”.
The Hoops supporters have been particularly outspoken on the way Nicola Sturgeon’s party rule over football fans in Scotland for several years now, ever since the introduction of the Offensive Behaviour at Football Act (OBFA).
The OBFA means that any fan or supporter can be removed from a stadium and face criminal charges for singing a song that may be deemed “lawfully offensive”.

We told in our exclusive story on October 12 how Celtic fans had protested with a similar banner before their 2-1 win away at Hamilton, with a sign that read: “Police Scotland, Focus On Your Own Failings, Not Football Fans”.
