Much like professional boxers, UFC fighters are ever confident when portraying themselves in press conferences and on social media and Connor McGregor is no different from that.
The Irish MMA fighter has been speaking big in the press ever since his fight with Jose Aldo was announced to take place on December 12th after the original 11th July card was cancelled.
However, the 27-year-old may have gone a step too far with his recent Facebook post which takes a dig at Celtic fans and the Queen.
McGregor – born in Dublin – was reacting to comments from people who were giving him a bit of stick after a picture of him sporting a poppy went online and the Irishman didn’t take too kindly with a full blown rant stating that he, himself, is a soldier and the flower represents fallen soldiers from all wars.
Despite his best efforts to stay clean, McGregor ended his statement with the phrase: “F**k you and the Queen”.
I know where my allegiance lies and what I do for my country.
I don’t need a stupid little flower with a 100 different meanings to tell me if I do or do not represent my country.
Check the facts of its original meaning.
ALL soldiers. ALL wars.
I have the blood of many nations on my gloves. Fought and beat on the world stage.
You have a pint in your hand and a Celtic jersey on in your local. Fuck you and the Queen.
