Former Celtic and Holland Striker Pierre Van Hooijdonk Calls Robin Van Persie an A*******

There’s very little love lost between Pierre van Hooijdonk and Robin van Persie, it seems.

Former Celtic and Netherlands striker van Hooijdonk has blasted his compatriot in the wake of Holland’s miserable Euro 2016 qualifying campaign.

The Dutch contrived to finish fourth in their section, lagging behind Turkey, Czech Republic and tiny, little Iceland, with stars over the age of 30, like van Persie and Wesley Sneijder baring most of their supporters’ ire.

And van Hooijdonk has joined in insisted that if his country are to recover from the humiliating debacle, they need to purge themselves of the old-guard, with van Persie first in line.

In fact, van Hooijdonk revealed on the Dutch TV show ‘Derksen &’ that he told van Persie as much when the two met during last summer’s World Cup in Brazil, with RvP telling him that he should “stick to playing golf”.

He adds:

Obviously he has more problems with me than I with him.

I don’t know what his problem is. This says more about him than about me, but I did think for a second: you arsehole.
