Man at Front of Liverpool Team Leaks Has a Meltdown After Getting Weekend Line-Up Wrong

Liverpool have had a consistent problem over the last year with their starting XI being leaked well ahead of kick-off.

It started under Brendan Rodgers and came in the shape of Twitter user @DamianLFCpl – who most fans of the Anfield club will no doubt have heard about.

According to his bio on the social media site, Damian is a writer for a Liverpool fans website in Poland.

But somehow he manages to correctly tweet the Liverpool starting line-up ahead of their games.

Or he managed to do that up until now.

Because his weekend leak ended up being incorrect, with the team he posted on Saturday including two players who could only make the bench against Southampton a day later:

Instead, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp named this team:

In case you’ve missed it, James Milner and Divock Origi made the starting XI, with Roberto Firmino and Christian Benteke settling for places on the bench.

According to popular club fan site, Liverpool got so paranoid about the problem that they built a fence around part of the training ground to stop anyone spying on their preparation for the weekend’s game:

Under Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool became so worried about the team being leaked that a 4 metre privacy screen has been built at Melwood recently.

Despite that, team news continues to be consistently leaked on social media, and even by the Liverpool Echo newspaper.

But the weekend post from Damian represents a small victory for the club and fans who have been disappointed to see the team successfully leaked sometimes days before games over the last year.

And we all know results have been poor over the past 12 months – so the work of this particular Twitter user hasn’t been welcomed by supporters determined to see the team back at the top of English football.

What does Damian have to say about it all? Apparently he did have the correct line-up, but chose to go with an alternative provided to him by his source:

However, Liverpool fans must be delighted to see he’s considering stopping his part in leaking the teams:

Klopp’s men are next in action against Bournemouth on Wednesday in the League Cup and it will be interesting to see whether Damian is active tomorrow in any way.
