We’ve been given a little bit of an insight into the background of Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts today.
The highly-rated 18-year-old winger – who signed from Championship side Fulham in the summer – was quizzed on his football firsts by City’s official YouTube page.
Roberts, who has also been capped for England at under-19s level, reveals some interesting facts about himself – including the first football shirt he ever wore and first game he ever attended.
The youngster explains how growing up with Scouse parents led to him wearing a Liverpool strip at a young age.
The former Craven Cottage kid also tells how the first football song he can remember singing is the iconic Liverpool anthem – You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Roberts grew up idolising former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard – but insists now that he ADORES Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi.
