Monaco Confirm They’ve Made An Approach For Chelsea Manager Jose Mourinho

It looks a lot like Jose Mourinho’s second spell as Chelsea manager could be coming to an end before too long, with the Portuguese manager said to need a result against Liverpool next weekend in order to keep his job.

The Blues currently find themselves 15th in the table after their worst-ever start to a Premier League season, and are a whopping 11 points behind leaders Manchester City.

Defeat to Jurgen Klopp’s men during Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off could be a step too far for the Chelsea hierarchy, but it appears another club is already waiting in the wings should the axe fall on Jose’s head.

Ligue 1 side Monaco have already been in touch the the Special One following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat at West Ham, and have offered him an escape route out of west London.

Monaco shareholder Alessandro Proto told Spanish newspaper Sport:

On Saturday night the first contact was made with Jose Mourinho about training Monaco.

We are still in a very early stage but we are convinced that Mourinho could train Monaco.

I’m sure the wages and tax exemptions in the Riviera could temp Mou, but it’d be a bit awkward when Roman Abramovich rolled up on his giant yacht.
