Twitter Reacts as Motherwell Fans Rage at Mark McGhee Return

In case you hadn’t noticed by the onslaught of abuse, Mark McGhee has sealed a return to Motherwell as manager.

The Scot has agreed a deal until May 17 to become boss at Fir Park for a second time – six years after leaving the club to take over Aberdeen.

McGhee has been assisting Gordon Strachan with the Scotland national team since 2013 and last managed a team in 2012 during his unsuccessful spell at Bristol Rovers.

He’s now back in the hotseat himself at a club he knows well and, at his first press conference tonight, McGhee spoke about how important it was to return to a club close to his heart.

But that feeling isn’t necessarily reciprocated amongst the Well support.

Judging by the furious reaction of some Motherwell fans, it looks like McGhee will have his work cut out in trying to persuade them that he’s the right man to replace Ian Baraclough and turn things around at the club.

However, for the time-being, he’ll have to put up with a backlash from some utterly furious that he’s back at Fir Park.

Here we’ve rounded up some of the Twitter reactions:
