Aston Villa boss Tim Sherwood must really be feeling the pressure after another defeat today, this time at the hands of Swansea, left them one point off the bottom of the Premier League table.
The Birmingham club recorded their seventh defeat on the trot this afternoon as Gary Monk’s side pipped them to a 2-1 win with a late goal.
Villa took the lead through Jordan Ayew just past the hour back, however, the Welsh club pulled it level through Gylfi Sigurdsson before Andre Ayew broke his brother’s heart with a match-winning goal in the 87th minute.
Sherwood’s men now sit in 19th place having not one since the opening day of the season, with their only other point coming in a 2-2 draw with Sunderland -who could leapfrog them if they beat Newcastle tomorrow – at the end of August.
You would think with such results that the former Tottenham boss would be feeling the pressure, however, when asked if he would be worried about hearing his phone ring tonight, the gillet-wearing legend responded brilliantly, saying:
No, I’ll just turn my phone off.
Reports have stated that Sherwood will hear his fate within 48 hours.
